Does your mouse cursor appear on the wrong display when using your Cintiq?? WELL MINE DID!!! After months of NOT KNOWING WHY, FAILED GOOGLE SEARCHES, and reinstalling drivers, and accidental fixes... I finally realized WHAT WAS WRONG!!! HALLELUJAH!!! YES!!! Thank you CINTIQ, for putting a default Display Toggle button where my fat right palm occasionally rests!

Here is the dastardly screen where all the annoying magic happens!!!

Solution?!?!?!!? DISABLED MUTHAF****!>!@>#!>@>!$>!>#!>!>~>!!!!!!!! (as illustrated below)

Most users encounter the following issue, which I feel I might as well note below. Perhaps this will be useful to someone randomly searching for a solution to such a problem... And I figure I might as well anyway since I'm already taking screenshots.

All the names I could think of for this piece sounded pretty awful, ie - the light of the blank, the star of blah, etc.

Originally inspired by Lux's Finales Funkeln of League of Legends. The painting pretty much took on its own life after the sketch got going.

Like most artists, I have so little time nowadays for creating art outside of work. Most often I'm just too damn tired, and the thought of spending more time in Photoshop is haunting. I decided to drop attempting these full blown illustrations and just throw together simple yet creative sketches. It feels so much better getting creative than executing long paintings.

First Painting of the New Year

It's rare to find good photo references on the internet- at least, pictures taken within a classical art studio lighting setting. So, I was really excited when I stumbled across one randomly one day, and have been saving it for a free weekend. Finally, after moving to a new apartment and setting up my new workspace, I found some free time. I'm extremely proud and happy to start off the new year with this successful painting.

Had a lot of fun with quick sketch this week. Every week it seems like if I can draw in one discipline then I fail in another- this week it happened to be fail portraits, hahaha. So my Saturday Life Drawing workshops have come to an end- I tried to have the admins move it to a weekday and no one ever called me back, despite the many times I tried to contact them. Deep Fried Hard Drive

I got the Windows blue screen of death while streaming Lost at the end of last week...and now my computer won't start up anymore. The subcompact hp I was working on normally heated up pretty bad, I guess it finally got hot enough to fry the hard drive. Or the black smoke came and ate my computer's innards. So, I won't be able to update for a while. =(

Monster Pals Concepts!!!

Yay! Monster Pals has finally been announced and is probably out in stores!

Monster Pals is a game where you build a monster from a massive variety of monster body parts and then train him to defend the town of Happy Valley from evil invaders!

I can finally show off some concepts. A lot of the UI files are still at inXile, I didn't copy them before I left. =( But what I do have is here for your viewing pleasure!

I've been SO busy with work! I somehow managed to land a full time contract job and several freelance opportunities. I've been really busy but am REALLY excited all the new projects I can add to my portfolio. Monster Pals has also been announced so I can't wait to put the concepts and UI for that game on my site too. AND I've become better at graphic and web design recently and can't wait to redesign my site either! Anyway I just wanted to show a couple random things.

Darn! There's so many things I want to show but can't yet. Oh well. Lol.

Here's a design for a wordpress template (blog) that wasn't chosen by the client because it was a little less legible, but I really like it so here it is along with the custom background I made for it.

After 6 months of unemployment and failed job hunting I'm all of a sudden being contacted for 4 gigs within the past two weeks. It would have been nice to be able to take all these jobs in those 6 months I sat around not making money. *sigh* Oh well, such is life. Perhaps it's proof that the economy is really recovering. In any case, it's gratifying knowing my work is good enough to solicit employment. Here's a sample I did for a potential client. *fingers crossed* Directions were for a 50s phone, hand drawn yet photo-realistic.

I rather like this method. Draw, scan, slap on some local color, add some highlights on top. Bam, done.
